We left the Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland and drove to Tongariro National Park. We stopped at beautiful Huka falls along the way.

Huka Falls

                   Tongariro National Park. At first I thought there was a fire on the mountain, but it was just low clouds. This picture was taken from out the window. If we stopped for a photo at every beautiful location we never would have reached our destination!

While driving around in Tongariro National park we saw a sign for Tawhai Falls and decided to check it out. We were glad we stopped because this place was beautiful.

            We concluded the day with a spectacular sunset over Mount Tongariro. I have never seen such a beautiful sunrise and sunset all in one day before.
