Splash Park

Friday we went with a few of Akasha's friends to a free Splash Park here in Pittsburgh. I wish there was a splash park near us in Maryland! I knew Addi would have fun and I was happy that Torah loved it so much too. Addi ran around nonstop for over two hours and she sure did sleep well that night!

Princesses

I made the girls princess crowns and Akasha took these cute pictures of them. I sure love these beautiful girls. Sometimes Addi and Aspen fight nonstop, but most of the time they play together very well, and they really do adore one another.

I think Torah and Aspen look a lot alike in this photo.

James sent the girls matching dresses while we were spending a couple weeks in Pittsburgh. It was a fun surprise and they look so cute in them. In the above picture Addi and Aspen are admiring the butterflies on their dresses and Addi calls it her "princess butterfly dress." Adelaide is a princess phase right now. I made them matching princess crowns and they spent a long time pretending to be princesses together. I'll post pictures of them with their princess outfits soon.

On our way home from the lake we stopped at an old-fashioned diner at the entrance of Presque Isle State Park. The place is decorated very cute and we loved the orange sherbet and vanilla swirl ice cream.

Noodle Necklaces

Photobucket

Adelaide loves making noodle necklaces! She loves wearing dress up jewelry and she's always very proud to put on something she made herself.

I thought I put Torah a safe distance away from Addi... I was wrong! I took this photo and then looked down at my camera and at that same moment Addi cried out, "Oh man!" Now when I look at this picture I smile knowing how Torah is looking over contemplating if she can reach the plate or not (I'm still surprised she can stretch that far!) We put Addi and Aspen in old clothes that we wouldn't mind getting painted and I didn't think we'd also need to change Torah. But at least she had fun smearing purple paint all over her cute outfit! :)

Notice how Adelaide is now holding her plate in her lap to protect it from her sister!

Heat Wave

Last summer we moved to Maryland in the middle of a 2 week heat wave. I wasn't used to living somewhere so humid and I was miserable outside and hibernated indoors for most of the summer. But I finally did acclimate to the humidity and it doesn't bother me at all this year. However, I am glad I'm in Pittsburgh today instead of home where the heat index for today reached 119 (The highest in more than ten years)!

Yeah... Addi is looking pretty bored in this photo. We ended up taking them to cool off at an indoor playground in the mall.
